The Webb School Sets Another Record For Annual Webb Fund, Pryors Announced As New Webb Fund Chairs

For the second year in a row, The Webb School set yet another fundraising record for The Webb Fund with donors giving $941,500 in Fiscal Year 2024. This number surpasses the previous record of $655,368 set in Fiscal Year 2023 and reflects an increase of 43.6%. It also signifies the seventh consecutive year of increases in Webb Fund contributions and sets the record for the highest amount of Webb Fund dollars raised in the school’s 154 year history.

The Webb Fund is a voluntary giving program that helps underwrite the core functions of the school. It gives the Head of School and the Leadership Team the ability to provide immediate support for Webb's most pressing initiatives, including academic programs, need-based financial assistance, artistic endeavors, sports activities, and campus improvements.

Head of School Ken Cheeseman said “Every year I am overwhelmed by the generosity of the Webb community. Through the support of alumni, parents, grandparents, parents of alumni, faculty, staff, and friends, Webb continues to turn out incredible scholars, athletes, and artists and provide an unparalleled educational experience here in Bell Buckle. I extend my deepest appreciation to all of our donors and especially the leaders of the Webb Fund effort, Webb Fund Co-Chairs Beth and Evan ‘94 Cope, Parents and Families Co-Chairs Caroline Lampley ’96 and Amy Farrar, Faculty and Staff Co-Chairs Kevin Finn and Maryanna Walton, as well as the trustees who serve on the school’s Development Committee, and the staff members of the Alumni and Development team. What a remarkable year this has been in fundraising. The generosity of our community and the hard work of our volunteers and leaders have amounted to another incredible, record breaking year.”

Webb Fund Faculty Co-Chair Kevin Finn acknowledged the importance of faculty giving and said “One hundred percent faculty participation in this year's record-breaking Webb Fund campaign is so fitting because it suggests all of the other areas where they give one hundred percent -- as teachers, as dorm parents, as coaches and advisors and activity sponsors -- because of their commitment to this community.  It's another testament to what Webb means and is from some of the folks who know it best.”

Webb Fund Chair and Board of Trustees member Evan Cope ’94 said "Beth and I could not be more excited about the success of the Webb Fund this year. Achieving these milestones would not have been possible without the generosity of a highly invested community for which we are tremendously grateful. The remarkable growth in donors and contributions demonstrates the hard work and dedication of our Alumni and Development staff and the strength of Webb’s Leadership Team.”

Caroline ’11 and Ryan ’12 Pryor of Memphis, TN have been named as the Fiscal Year 2025 Webb Fund Chairs. They added: “We are thankful for Evan and Beth and their excellent leadership these past two years and are excited for the opportunity to serve our alma mater as the co-chairs of The Webb Fund in its 155th year.”
