Jake Owen and Derek Godwin



After nearly 2 decades in the construction industry and managing more than $1 billion in construction projects, Derek Godwin founded Godwin Construction in 2012 to provide homeowners an unparalleled experience when building their dream home. Derek is a licensed engineer, with active licenses in more than 40 states. Due to explosive growth, Derek brought on Jake Owen as a partner in 2018 in order to meet demand and to still provide the same great service and vision. Jake Owen has a finance degree from MTSU and he thrives at guiding homeowner’s through each phase of the building process from finding property and designing the home all the way through moving day. Jake’s construction background along with being a licensed appraiser make him a valuable resource for homeowner’s to bounce ideas off of during the construction phase.

Jake is a Murfreesboro native and Derek has been in Murfreesboro for over 3 decades, and they have seen firsthand the explosive growth of the community. Godwin Construction works closely with local architects to assist the homeowners in designing the perfect home for their family.
