Lisbeth Couser, Director of Development and Marketing for The Journey Home, and her capable staff and committee, welcomed supporters to Copper Ridge. Guests enjoyed drinks and appetizers, while perusing auction items. Following dinner, Board Chair Bill Reid announced that $6.2 million has been raised and groundbreaking for their new facility will be on October 14. He introduced Leslie Karl Dodd, the next Board Chair. Melinda Crook and Gina Keene related their experiences with homeless children at Mitchell Neilson School, stating that there were more than 100 homeless by the end of the past school year. Bill Luther and Marv Green delighted the crowd with their songwriting talents, performing song-after-song that they had written.

The Journey Home is a nonprofit Christian ministry dedicated to serving the homeless and disadvantaged. They provide resources and relationships that encourage faith, economic stability, wholeness and reintegration into community life.
